Is it good to do a follow up call after interview?

Is it good to do a follow up call after interview? Honestly speaking, I don’t find it good. I believe, if you are a deserving candidate for the position or you fulfill the criteria of the job, interviewer will call you himself/herself. I have seen many corporate recruiter or writer or most of the author who write about interview techniques or mantra of cracking interview,  focus on follow up call. I could not understand the need of it. Infect, in my opinion if you do follow up call interviewer will think either you are desperate to get a job or you don’t believe in your capability of getting the job.  2ndly, even if you do a follow up call, interviewer will not reveal the right information about your candidature.   What I would suggest is just wait for one week, if you don’t get a call that means you are not shortlisted or doesn’t fit the criteria of the job. What is your suggestion? Comments are most welcome. Cheers Sujata

Complete Hindi

Today I was traveling to Noida. While coming back I saw one foreigner traveling in a metro reading a book called “Complete Hindi”. That put me into deep thought that people from other countries are trying to learn Hindi and we being Indian are feeling embarrassed if we have to speak in Hindi. Everybody wants an employee friend, partner who can speak good English. Amazing. Hum Hindustan main rahkar hindi bolte hue sharam mahsoos karte hain, while other people are trying to learn Hindi. I do not know about others but it was very embarrassing moment for me. Big MNCs do not hire people who do not have good English speaking skills. We feel bad if we can’t speak English. Even if someone is speaking to you in Hindi and if you are good English Speaker, you will have a feeling that you are talking to illiterate person. What a mentality we have. I remember long back I got rejected by very good company because I could not speak fluent English. Infact interviewer asked me wh

It is being said by many motivational speakers “unless you get a job of your choice, enjoy your current job” if you won’t do that you will be unhappy and performance will be zero. Now how to stay positive when you are not doing a job of your choice? Do the followings: 1.        You can help other colleagues in their task. 2.        Read lots of books, magazines, subjects of your interest and choice 3.        Improve yourself for your choice of career day by day 4.        Keep yourself up-to date of the things which you would like to do 5.        Get ready for the opportunity as opportunity doesn’t knock twice. 6.        Do not wait for the opportunity, do your home-work well before time. Don’t do the followings 1.        Do not get involve in gossip 2.        Do not talk about other colleagues bad work 3.        Do not trust blindly 4.        Keep yourself cool in uncontrollable situation 5.        Even if you don’t like management decision o

Do not work for Lalla company. Even if you get good package, your job satisfaction and self-respect would be zero. In Lalla company what they want is only loyalty like Dog. Come to office before time and go after office hours, boss will be happy. Whether you work during that time or not, would not make much difference. One thing which your boss would like you to do is simply follow whatever he / she instructs you to do. Whether it is right or wrong, should not be your concern  J . You would have no right to raise your voice or concern. If you would do, samjh lo tumhari job gayi J . Little flattery and you would be in boss good books always.
